Today I'm participating in the circle linkup via Kiki at In Its Time. She is so cute and creative! This month's prompt is come up with a list of things you've already done, rather than things you still hope to do—a reverse bucket list! After reading through several of the other linked-up posts and seeing all the cool ladies and things they've done, I just couldn't resist!
Here goes, my reverse bucket list:
- Moved out of my hometown. Definitely never thought that would happen, or that my new home would be so
similar to my first...just...with more cows. Loving it here, though!
- Got married! Almost a year and a half have gone by and I still cannot believe that I have been blessed enough to
marry the most amazing man I've ever known!
- Was a cheerleader in high school. A long, unlikely story that turned into a lot of fun and great memories.
- Participated in a beauty pageant. Haha! I still can't think about this without laughing...and all down to a
dare from my sweet little sis. A "Miss Congeniality" experience if ever there was one.
- Served on several short-term missions teams in Canada through NAIM. In a word - incredible.
- Got a tattoo. Neither my first then, nor probably my last now. Would've never expected that when I was younger.
- Made my sister's wedding cake. Not only was I honored to be asked to do it, but I can hardly believe that she's
grown up enough to be a married lady. Love you, C!
- Got a literature degree. I've always loved books and I still feel so blessed to have been able to spend four years
studying one of the things I most cherish.
- Running the Chicago Marathon. An incredible experience I am definitely fine with just doing once. haha!
It's been such an amazing life so far; I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in the years to come!!

Your literature degree is my dream degree. I wasn't 100% what I wanted to major in college so I dropped out after I got my associates but now that I'm older (and busier and poorer), I realize that's what I wanted all along. Maybe one day, I'll go back to school and then get certified to be a teacher. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteKaitlyn - I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend. I didn't go in to teaching (though that was the original plan), but I still feel like it was a great choice! :)
DeleteI have by Bachelor's in English Literature! I loved my time at university. It was such a fun experience.

Thanks, Kiki! I would've never pictured myself leaving my hometown, but it's been a great adventure thus far. And trust me, the pageant was certainly a one-time-only thing. Ha! I'm 100% not the pageant type.

Congrats on the marathon! That's an incredible accomplishment that I really admire. I ran my first half in November 2014 and it was a great experience but I need some motivation to get back into training :P Any advice?
ReplyDeleteVeronica - my mom and I did it to raise money for a charity that does research for auto-immune disorders, which my sister actually had at the time. Having a good reason to do it is half the battle because it keeps you motivated. We aren't runners by any means so our goal was just to finish. I ended up with stress fractures in my ankle and it was pretty grueling by the end...but, crossing the finish line holding my mom's hand, with my sister waiting for us is a memory I would never trade. My advice: find something that will keep you going and don't feel bad for walking when you need to! :)

Aren't they awesome?! And I actually have 4 now...and my husband is planning on getting one too. Our problem is the cost! Ugh!
