I used to live in a small town in the south, and now I live in a small town in the north. Seemingly almost the same place, just slightly different accents and a lot more cows.
I have a degree in Literature and no real clue what I want to do with my life. My only true desire is to serve God, live simply, and to be good wife and someday mom. I love to read, bake yummy things, and craft just about anything.
I also love learning new things and meeting new people!
I'm currently learning ASL and teaching myself to quilt. I have a major thing for typography. I'm silly and spontaneous, and a lot of the time also awkward and sarcastic. I'm also irrationally suspicious of cauliflower—don't ask.
So
lets be friends...unless you don't like spiced chai (just kidding!...sort
of).
a song for the birds
The title for this blog came from one of my all-time favorite
songs..."Simple Life" by The Weepies (amazing musicians and people). The lyrics read:
Is it enough to write a song and sing it to the birds? They'd hear just the tune, not understand my love for words. But you would hear me and know, I want to live, I want to live a simple life.Along these lines...I suppose I want this blog to bring pause to my life. I often focus too much on looking ahead, rather than stopping to reflect on each day, each moment. I want to live a simple life and I have no idea what that journey is going to look like, but I don't want to miss a minute of it.
spiced chai is the best!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that your blog name was inspired by music. One of my very first blog titles was similarly inspired (although certainly not by such beautiful lyrics, it was my teenage-self blog!) but in any case, I always think that's one of the best sources of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove that you got a degree in English Lit! In another life where I have enough money to get a second Bachelor's, that would be one of my top picks. That, or creative writing I think.
my blog name came from one of my favorite songs too!! music is my love language!

Hope to know more of you in the future and to meet you too. We're living in Guatemala.
